Flavio Lira is a versatile musician, he plays acoustic and electric bass, 7 string acoustic guitar and also works as a composer, arranger and producer. He’s currently working with different groups and playing a wide variety of musical styles, such as samba, cuban music, choro and jazz.

Currently based in Boston-USA, Flavio Lira is currently attending Berklee College of Music with a scholarship in the Bass Performance major.

After two years of moving to Boston, Flavio is already performing steadly in the local and in the New England scenes, having performed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Vermont states.

Notable names that he has performed in the New England area include brazilian artists Dudu Nobre and Leandro Lehart. As a part of the Franky Rodriguez y Homenage a La Salsa group, he has played with salsa singers Hector Tricoche, Wilmer Lozano, Ray de La Paz, Luisito Carrion, Adalberto Santiago and others. He also performs steadly with Berklee faculty, such as Eguie Castrillo, Fernando Brandão, Ricardo Monzon, Bertram Lehmann, Matt Jenson, Annette Phillip, and others.

He also is part of the ChoroBop Trio, a brazilian and contemporary music trio that has performed in the Blue Note in NYC, in the Boston Symphony Hall and other great venues.
