A Yi (real name Ai Guozhu) is “one of the most gifted Chinese authors in recent times,” according to Nobel-nominated poet Bei Dao. His star has been rising in the global literary scene as well: he’s been published in Granta and The Guardian, and A Perfect Crime, his first novel translated into English, was published in June 2015.

A Perfect Crime is a thrilling and stylish novel about a motiveless murder that echoes Kafka’s absurdism, Camus’nihilism and Dostoyevsky’s depravity.

A Yi is a confirmed author for 2016 Bookworm Literary Festival.

Reed his book, discuss it during The Book Club Meeting and meet the author when he comes to Beijing this March.

Those who buy A Perfect Crime from The Bookworm can get a free drink during the Book Club Meeting
